Membership Guidelines
The Early
Childhood Interventionists Association of Nova Scotia (ECIANS) strives
to promote and strengthen professionalism by mentoring, supporting and
advocating for its members.
Membership is open
to Early Childhood Interventionists (ECI) in
Nova Scotia.
An
ECI has
the professional credentials to work with young children with
developmental delays in partnership with their families and various
community based professionals in a provincial Early Childhood Education
Program.
Any individual who
has been employed as an ECI in an Early Childhood Intervention Program
in Nova Scotia for twelve
consecutive months is eligible to become an Active Member.
Associate
membership in the society is open to any individual who has/had been
employed as an ECI for 5 years or more but is not currently employed as
an ECI. Associate members
will have the same access to meetings, professional development,
information and support as Active Members, although they may not vote or
hold any office in ECIANS.
An application
stating name, address, education, dates of employment, and place of
employment shall be submitted and reviewed by the Board of Directors.
A membership fee of
$50 shall be paid when a member joins ECIANS for the first time and will
be paid again every time a member renews their membership.
The same fee applies to Active and Associate Members.
Memberships must be
renewed on a yearly basis.
All members’ renewals will take place on the same date, at the ECIANS
AGM. If a member is unable
to attend the AGM, they may submit their application by mail.
Members of ECIANS
must uphold the objects of the society.
